The identified subject area is the use of representation with performance in contemporary photography.
Performance as necessary and influential element for what we know as Contemporary Art (Aprox 1940) and photography as a form of expression at it’s very peak since early 20century.
The context of my exploration revolves around to this crossroad situation in between Art, photography and Performance, always considering that definitions invite to unfocused conclusions and undefined boundaries.
The idea is having a stage with different actors will perform ‘everyday actions’ but in a more theatrical and pop (refereeing to pop art) looking.
When I mention my interest with Pop Art is because apart from creating an image with a critical-social value, I also want to do an image in which elements of mass and popular culture are brought into the frame. (Lighting will be very important for this).
These everyday actions will have some connection with domestic life, but particularly with man-women relationships.
This is a particular subject that touch me personally, (men-women relations) probably because the education I was given from my mothers side it has always been very strong and crucial, this is due to her personal experience after get divorce with my father, this probably might sound quite typical now a days, but this happened now nearly 15 years ago, in a quite conservative family.
What I personally find exciting with performing in photography it’s the fact of been able to create you own critical document.
The idea its to be able to play this game in wich the artist creates and send the concept to the spectator through the image for him/her to react towards the artist.
Within the same frame, one of the actors must work as a messenger, lets say, for instance, we have three actors, two of them interacting one to another but the third one must interact with the spectator.
Also the idea is been able to create an image, which can be observed from different perspectives and different audiences.
-Social and anthropological matters.
-Pop and erotic.
